Manchester Airport shows rise in passengers numbers by 10% in May, as it operated extra flights switched from the other UK airport, because of the Icelandic ash cloud, and increased services by low-cost carriers.
The airport had 1.73m passengers in May 2011, whereas it had 1.57m in May 2010, with an 17.1 % increase on international schedule routes and 5.5% rise domestically.
