Zurich airport Needs Expansion

With rising economic growth, Zurich airport needs expansion says the CEO of Swiss International Air Lines.  Harry Hohmeister, the CEO of Swiss International Air Lines says to access globalised world, international airport is essential. The current space and infrastructure of the airport is not sufficient to deal with future economic growth in Switzerland.

Germany’s Lufthansa airline has banned night flights and weekend flights en route to Zurich airport over parts for its southern territory in 2003. The development work at Zurich airport has forced to redirect flights to its southern runway, passing over parts of the city.

Hope to see Zurich airport with new expansion soon.

New airport scanner placed at Zurich Airport

Zurich airport has received a new airport scanner, and tests to show whether it is an improvement to security have been successful. The scanner will show picture images of the body and where objects, liquid, powder or devices might be hidden. However the outline of passengers in detail will not be disclosed.

Tests were performed on 5000 passenger over a full week and an airport spokesperson said it worked well.

Right now the scanners won’t be common place at Zurich airport as it cost more than 100,000 francs and it is still yet to receive approval from the EU.
