Rijksmuseum exhibition of works of Dutch girls will be feature at the Schiphol Airport. Exhibition will begin from 7th September to 12th December. “Dutch Girls” is a portrait gallery of nine 17th century leading models from the Golden Age, most stunningly painted by among others Frans Hals, Caesar van Everdingen, Isaak Luttichuys, and Barholomeus van der Helst.

As in the Dutch Golden Age, women and girls tried to look best with their finest dress and pretty jewellery, while sitting for a portrait. Models are portrayed as attractive as possible with attempt to capture their real character. Painters have done great efforts to paint their fashionable and luxurious jewellery and clothing.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has now opened its new general aviation terminal for business. The new terminal is designed by VMX architects covering total floor area of 6,500 sq. meters including 1,000-sq.-meter for terminal and lounge and 3,500 sq. meters for office space. The terminal looks very attractive with its silver colored panels and large areas of glass. The apron side has a 12-metre long magenta-colored awning.

New terminal will be operating 20,000 aircraft a year and planes carrying not more 19 passengers.

Despite of ash cloud pouring from an Icelandic volcano, Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport decided to remain open on Wednesday on 25th May, 2011.  Although ash cloud has reached neighboring country Germany, Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport will have flights operated by KLM.

KLM which is owned by Air France-KLM had decided to operate majority of its flights from Amsterdam hub as scheduled with some cancellations to destinations in Germany, Scandinavia and the U.K.
