Railway in Greece goes for Strike this week

Rail services at Greece went on halt as Hellenic Railway (OSE) employees have called four 24-hour rolling strikes for Monday-Wednesday (October 25-27) and Friday (October 29). The strike has leaded to cancellation of number of schedule trains routes affecting the rest of the week, i.e., Sunday, Thursday and Saturday (October 24, 28 and 30).

The strike also affects Proastiakos suburban railway service from Doukissis Plakentias station to Athens International Airport, as the infrastructure of that section belongs to OSE.

Reason for strike is to protest over an infrastructure, transport and networks ministry bill on the reorganisation and development of OSE.

So if you want to reach Athens’ International Airport, you can either use public transport (by bus) or hire a car.
