The B-bus gates of Vienna Airport in the Pier West terminal area have been completely redesigned to new modern and expansive look. It took eight months to complete this renovation process. Renovation was carried in seven stages to reduce the inconvenience for passengers and allowing use of complete areas.
Travellers can now use 18 gates with 700 persons seating and 12 x-ray lines for security controls. Also interior areas surrounding the gates are completely redesigned with new lighting; the technical equipment, flooring, boarding and seating are changed to match the new and modern interior. The old glass and steel dividing walls that previously separated the individual gates are now removed to create an open room concept.
Passengers can now have more seating and waiting area with shops around making waiting hours not too boring.
